We have yet to hear from the realtor for the couple that was deciding between our home and three others. I suppose we could still hear something but at this point, we are guessing they put an offer on one of the other houses.
However, we had another couple stop by this evening to schedule a time for tomorrow after church to come and see the house. They have driven by several times and decided that it was time to see the inside. So, they will be here at 12:15pm. I'm glad we are getting "traffic", just hoping for a buyer very, very soon! Please be praying!
Now, it's time for bed! Good night!!
(More blogging about this past week to come...I even have pictures!)

Update...
Yes, we are still in the waiting mode but... We received an email from the realtor today letting us know that we are still in the running and that it may be 5 to 7 days before the people make their decision. I made sure he had our cell phone number in case he needed to get a hold of us while we are camping. He said he would let us know either way.
So, that's what we know for now. It was some what of a relief to know that a decision had not been made yet. We all just need to keep praying!!
Oh yeah...I didn't get the lawn mowed before Jason got home so he said he would do it instead...WHAT A GUY!! We can now check that off the list of things to do before we head out for the week...3 more sleeps!

Waiting...the hardest thing I have to do
I don't know about you, but waiting is very hard for me. My heart stops every time the phone rings. Is it the realtor? Nope! Maybe next time.
We have yet to hear anything regarding our house. We know things will happen in God's timing and rest in that...or for me, try to rest in that. I am trying to keep myself busy around here, trying to find different things to do. How many times can I clean a room and sort through closets? Anything to keep me from driving myself crazy just thinking about the possibility of our house selling. I should be out mowing the lawn...maybe I will do that after lunch. Again, anything to keep me busy.
For now, just keep praying. That's all we can do until we hear from the realtor. Be watching here for an update. I will post as soon as we hear. Okay, back to the "busy work".

2nd house showing
I got a call today at 1:30 from a realtor who had shown our house last Monday. His clients have narrowed their selections down to three and we are one of the three. Anyway, the wife of the couple was wanting to show the three houses to their daughters. So, they all arrived at 2:45 today and stayed for about 20 minutes. They all seemed to really like the house and the yard. Please pray with us about this. Selling the house right now would be a huge answer to prayer. I am hoping to hear from the realtor in the next day or two regarding their decision. It would be so awesome if we could go on vacation this next week knowing that we were in the final stretch of selling the house.
Oh yeah, they wanted to know if we would be willing to do a quick closing and be out in a couple of weeks. I told them yes. So, I hope you all have an empty room...we may be moving in...hahaha! We are not even going to start looking for a rental until we have a signed deal! I refuse to get my hopes up. We did that to ourselves last year...someone was deciding between us and another house and we went looking for rentals only to find out that they went for the other house.
We just keep trusting in God's timing. We will let you know what we find out...

90th Birthday Picnic
This past Friday, my Great-Aunt, Liz, turned 90-years old. (This would be my mom's aunt.) She has always loved getting together at the Lynden City Park with all of the extended family to celebrate her birthday. So, it was fitting that we keep that tradition to celebrate this milestone in her life.
The kids were excited about going to the park. They have been wanting to go all week but, honestly, I have been avoiding the park this past week because it has been so crazy there with everyone wanting to cool off in the creek. So, today was their day and they were thrilled. They played along the creek for the first little bit and then played on the playground. It was hard on them to take a break to eat. Thankfully, our tables were next to the playground so we were close to the kids!
Aunt Liz was widowed at a young age and never re-married and never had any kids of her own. She has pretty much "adopted" all of her nieces and nephews and now all of us great-nieces and nephews and our kids. Here she is enjoying a little bit of time with Paige.
There was a really good turnout today and as usual, we had the circle of women and the circle of men. Funny how that happens at family functions. It was a lot of fun to be able to sit and talk with one of our cousins who just had her first baby on July 5th. We was great to be able to encourage her and to let her know that she is not alone. And, Natalie Grace, is absolutely adorable! I was very privileged to have had the opportunity to feed Natalie and spend a little time holding her. She is so tiny!! It was great too that her mommy and daddy got to enjoy their food in peace. For those of us who are "experienced" parents, these moments can be few and far between. I'm really looking forward to seeing Natalie and her mommy again on Wednesday night at the family baby shower. I can't wait to give her our gift!

And, Miss Paige...she was an amazing little girl today. She was playing on this blanket and got very tired. Trisha was able to just roll her over and patted her back for a little bit and Paige was out. She took a great little 30 minute, or so, power nap. She woke up happy and ready to go again. (For those of you wondering why Paige had a blanket on her this very warm day...She can't sleep without it. It's actually very cute to watch her sucking her fingers and holding this blanket with her other hand.)
When we got home from the park, the kids got their suits on, were sun screened, and they headed to the pool. We invited the neighbor kids to join them and they were all in the pool for a good hour or more. I can't even imagine getting through this summer without our pool. I think we would probably be down at the park beating the crowd in the creek. Ha!
Oh yeah, I almost forgot. We harvested the first round of green beans this afternoon. I was so excited when I was checking out the plants today and saw all of these beans ready to be picked. It's just amazing how fast they come on. You look one day and there is nothing but little flower buds and two days later there are beans 3 inches long. Yay!!! Tomorrow night's dinner will consist of lots of veggies fresh from OUR garden...green beans, "purple" onion, zucchini, squash...mmm, yum! I can't wait!!

What a weekend!
This has been a great weekend so far! We have just been laid back and not really pushed to get a whole lot done.
Yesterday, once the day care kiddos left, I went and spent some time with my wonderful sis-in-law and that adorable new nephew of mine, Wyatt. It had been almost a week since I had seen Wyatt and I was feeling guilty. I never went that long between visits with Wayne and Weston. I realize our lives have changed and there are a lot of added things going on but, I knew I needed to make that visit. It was great to just sit and hold that baby boy and sit and chat with Tanya. We had some catching up to do...as much as you can with two other wild boys running around. (I love those wild boys!!)
From there, I attempted to go work in my office at the bakery. However, when I walked in to my office, I was hit with a heat wave and within 15 minutes, I was dripping with sweat. I quickly finished the task I was working on and left a note for my boss letting him know that I would return early Saturday morning before the office heated up to get everything done.
I got home and found Jason out planting the rest of the trees for the fence line. (We went to Lowe's on Thursday night and found more trees for less than the neighbor had paid for the trees that we planted last weekend...yay us!!) So, he planted the last 16 trees and now that project is complete and then mowed the lawn. I did a few things inside the house and then we just enjoyed the rest of the evening as a family. It was great!
This morning, once I returned home from work, we quick finished up with some vacuuming and tidying up and then enjoyed the rest of the day together as a family. We went and looked at new couch sets at Wiser Furniture...found a set that we really like but will wait a little bit. If you haven't seen the couch and love seat in our family room, they are BAD!! We have had them for almost 12 years and the fabric is beginning to shred in places. It will be sad to replace them since they were the first pieces of furniture that we purchased together 2 months after we were married. BUT, it would be nice to replace them and not worry about any kiddos sticking their fingers in the holes of the cushions and making them bigger. What is it with the attraction little fingers have with holes in things? I just don't get it.
Earlier in the week, I had told the girls that we would find time this weekend to go get what they will need for soccer and volleyball this fall. They are both signed up with Lynden Youth Sports for fall sports. Alyssa will play soccer, or at least we hope she plays and doesn't just stand and watch her team play like she did a few years ago :), and Brenna will have her first season of volleyball. She participated in the 2-day Volleyball Camp that the LHS Volleyball team put on at the end of the school year and really enjoyed it. So, today we came home from Bellingham with soccer cleats for Alyssa and knee pads and volleyball for Brenna. We are excited to introduce a new sport to the girls. We are really hoping that volleyball is Brenna's sport. She is totally built for it. It will be a little crazy for us this fall with 2 sports happening probably on the same days and I'm sure we will have games that will overlap but, I guess that's the joy of having multiple children involved in sports at the same time. It will be great. Let me know if you would like the girls schedules and I will get them to you once we start up.
The rest of the afternoon was spent lounging around the house watching a movie and just spending more time together. It's been so long since we've had a weekend like this. Oh yeah, I even got to snuggle with Ethan after his bath tonight and he fell asleep on me!! I love these moments that I get as a mommy and they are getting more and more, few and far between. :(
Tomorrow, we will go to church in the morning and then to my great-aunt's 90th b'day party at the Lynden City Park. Once we are home from that, we will probably spend some time in the pool. The kids were a little bummed that we didn't do that today but with everything else that we did, we were all a little tired when we got home from Bellingham.

How are you keeping cool?
Has this week been a scorcher or what! I'm not sure how much more the kids and I will be able to handle. The kids have been in the pool every day this week before lunch to cool down, or at least make a good attempt to cool down. We are doing everything we can to try and keep the house from heating up too much but have totally failed yesterday and today. Yesterday at 5:00, the house was 90 degrees and tonight at the same time, it was 91. Blah! As I'm writing this, it is cooler outside than inside, not by much, but it is and we have fans running in every room.
Today, I decided I had simply had enough and went and spent just over 2 hours with the kids in the pool. We sunscreened everyone up and out we went. When I initially took the pool cover off, the water temp registered at 98 degrees. We know, though, that the top part of the water is always warmer than the bottom part so once we got the watered stirred up for awhile I checked the temp again and it was 90 degrees. It felt so good! Ethan eventually tossed the thermometer out of the pool and when I went to put it back in the pool at 4:30, I glanced at it to see what it was reading. I was shocked at what I saw...105 degrees. WOW! That's hot. It was laying in the direct sunlight. No wonder the house is as hot as it is. When Jason got home, he snapped a quick picture of all of us in the pool just so we have proof that I do get in the pool with the kids. :)
We were all back in the pool after dinner for about another hour. It was a lot of fun!! Needless to say, by the time 8:00 rolled around, Ethan was exhausted and having a major melt down. He was hot and tired...not a good combination! Poor little guy...he is going to sleep so good tonight.
I've already told the kids that we are going to head to Bellingham first thing in the morning to get my errands done and then we can spend the rest of the day in the pool. The neighbor kids are going to be watching for us to pull in because I told them tonight that they could join us tomorrow afternoon. I hope they don't drive their mommy crazy all morning waiting for us to get home...sorry Ashley!
